A leak that was reported at the DuPont plant in Belle has been cleared, emergency dispatchers said.
At 11:25 a.m., Metro 911 reported oleum, a form of sulfuric acid, was released at the plant. Emergency workers said the release had been contained inside an area of the plant.
The Belle Volunteer Fire Department was called to take standby at the main gate.
A Metro 911 dispatcher said crews were working to fix the leak.
By 12:30 p.m., the release was contained, according to Metro 911.
Dispatchers said there was no emergency risk to the public.
